christmas concert!

heya bloggie!

i just finished with out first practice for this coming christmas concert organized by WCCI on the 25th Dec. we'll be performing the "Joyful joyful" song from Sister Act 2.

fuh!~ im so pumped!

i love this song! i've always dreamt about how cool it would be to perform it.

1st practice went well i think.
everyone was so pumped as i was to perform this number. The dance moves are tricky n so cute when in-sync that is hehe~

i think at the end of it all.. confirm ampus la.

the only thing that worried me at first was that not everybody would be into this idea.. no semangat la.

but to my delight, everybody sang their hearts out n tried dancing those gila-babi-susah-dance-moves-at-first-sight(tx max ;p)... and it ended looking quite cute. us jumping about and all..

lets just see how it goes yea.

will definitely take a vid of our performance n post it here for u guys to see.

we might crash n burn~ but who cares??

If all goes well.. it'll be a Moscow-London-Manchester-London-Paris-Amsterdam-Moscow. According to tat sequence.
London Bridge(seen it before but still excited gila)-Old trafford(wiwiwiwiwi! im a MAN U fan btw)-Eiffel tower(im a bit acrophobic tho ;p)-Red light district(i gotta see this before they close it down!!!)
In that order.

some things just hit the very core of u and u cant explain it. no matter how hard u try n figure out wat is was about that sentence that struck a nerve, it just doesn't come to you... n ur left feeling hurt.

and no amount of 'making it up' takes effect.

a latent period starts and u just feel numb.

its something only a good shower and some chocolate ice cream can cure.

owh wat pure bliss... to lay in nothing-ness, ur mind empty with an occasional sweet dream or two, breathing steady, just laying there motionless as u recharge urself for another day of 3rd year.

waking up.. i find.. is almost the most hardest thing. especially after a meager 4 hours of it. BOOHOO!

sleep o sleep~~~~~ where art thou??

actually 3rd year isnt all that bad. It only is when u procrastinate like i do and find urself upon heaps n heaps of overdue material that u wonder where all the time went.

1. Stop with the farm-cafe-fishtank whatchamacallit games on FB! they're addictive!

Full grown men find themselves planting oats and wheat and taking care of their little chicks and pigs and visiting other little farmers, raking leaves, fertilizing crops and so on so forth... happily!

2. DO NOT study with ur lappie on... Lappie on means internet's on.. which means MSN is on... which MEANS..... that u have a 99.9% possibility of meddling with ur com halfway tru reading Microbiology and the next day all that you can recall are the lyrics to ur bestie's "Natalie Louise Shim" 's new song.

btw nat.. i <3>

3. Be sure to have a well-stocked fridge. Studying takes up much glucose for the brain. Hence snacking is a MUST.

Snacking on fatty products is prohibited. We shall be smart AND sexy. Write this down.

4. I wish i had a no 4. Then it would seem like i thoroughly thought this thru.

3rd year's a bitch.

why do they have to cram everything into this particular year... everything medic-y is shoved in ur face right now.

n while i enjoy somewhat knowing every little mechanism that twinks our body... i have to say the load is getting to me.

n its only been 3 months.

exams will be hell.

i think im slowly fading out of existence.....

pray i survive this.

and sorry for being mia lately. but the free time i have.. i spend on cathing up on sleep.

ps : i've agreed to play for mygames netball n basketball tournaments. And im trying out for the futsal team apart from already being in the netball team. Im digging my own grave.

nways its so hectic nowadays... 3rd year is no joke.

i dont know what i must have done wrong in my past life to deserve getting all the "good" teachers this semester.

i shudnt complain. these teachers of mine are strict and unforgiving and expect u to memorise word for word the topic.. then in class they just whip u up down and sideways.. in a way it makes us study.. but still~ the stress and fatigue can get to u.

thank God for these miracles of a day when classes are canceled to make way for a special occasion in kursk. A portrait of Mother Mary which was found here in Kursk 800 years ago has been brought back to its original place from the US... temporarily of course.. and processions will be taking place in the main streets to commemorate this historic event.

procession = main roads closed = no busses to hospital classes = x classes = rest = happy me :D

yipee~ so tats why im taking this opportunity to update on the latest happenings.

sorry for the long absence.

internet is no more fun for me when im so occupied with family n friends. i know wat ur thinking.. "awwwwww"......... but its true.

and since the 1st of August... bz with attachment in HQE, emergency dept.

so many things to tell.. so bloody tired.

oopps.

a little deprived of sleep

not because attachment starts at 8am (tats a reasonable hour), but instead due to the fact tat i have to reluctantly wake up at 5am n leave by 5:30am so tat mum n i can send lil bro to school by 6, then mum goes to work at 7... and im dropped off an HOUR early to the hospital..

during this time i read the newspapers very2 slowly and go through every article.. hence, im pretty upto-date with current events like mj's mum now has custody of his kids (not in any particular way useful info but still... i read the entertainment section first :D)

neway bck to topic

its so so so very interesting in A&E now.

in the beginning... i remember the hours spent standing trying to look bz when there are no cases in the ward, or the time when we first started and felt completely lost in a world where everyone is walking with a purpose and rushing to get something done and of course the leg aches from all that standing.

it took some getting used to.

the key is to be proactive. or in other words "kuat menyibuk"

some have this God-given talent while others have to jadi muka tembok jg la.

"errr.. nurse bole kami observe?"

"errr.. o.. apa skt dia ah?"

etc etc

at first i felt like i was in the way of their efficient workings.. but a few days into it.. i started to get into the groove.

gone is the shyness. in order to learn.. i shall be "proactive"

and the staff (MA,HO,nurses) have accepted our presence.

they even allow us to do more procedures now and we dont even have to ask anymore. they seem to want to teach these eager-to-please med students who trail them everywhere.

ive done several ECG's, BP and Pulse rate recordings and a few injections even (with supervision of course)

might seem like a small achievement to some.. but for me..

*SMILES ALL AROUND*

small baby steps hehe.

however observation wise is amazing.

i know i sound very jakun.......

but i just saw a little boy's head cracked open due to a falling brick that landed on his head and the part tat made me jakun was that the Doctor INVITED us to touch the fractured skull of the boy so that we could learn how it felt like. So 3 of us observing this boy slipped on some sterilized gloves and felt his fractured skull through his large open wound.

fuh. thats wat i call learning.

imma never forget that.

there were so many other cases... but im pooped.

all in all.. first week of elective attachment in HQE Emergency Dept has been fun and very educational.

i feel like dying...

not because of this stupid virus.. yes funny story. who wud have thunk tat i wud get the swine flu. i must have the most sh**tiest luck in the world.

dun worry tho. im all well now.. symptom free.

wats killing me is boredom.. house arrest is no fun. so bored.. i suddenly felt like blogging which is a good thing.

sorry guys.. (especially ojoi) for not telling u.. there were days susah mo buka mata coz the fever was too much (pity me pls) ;p

and i dint even contract this virus from so-called h1n1 infested countries.. (i transited in korea.. but none of my friends got it).. so most probably i got it from my brother.. coz he's been hanging out with loads of friends who just came back from overseas, namely US and australia.

and not to mention i sat in a confined space with him(the car) for several hours.. as he coughed on and on. And suddenly i wake up the next morning in cold sweat, all feverish.

to make things worst, i wasnt able to meet azee n zella whom were here for several days after i arrived... n now they've flown back to shah alam.. n im left here all alone again with no hope of meeting my geng karas again... uwa~

sedih gila babi sdh nie.

to top it all off.. nxt year i'll be doing practicals in russia.. so mmg x akan clash lagi holiday kita.

so i'll see ya'll after 4 years ya!

it seems like only yesterday we were on our way to high school together... either ur dad or my dad would pick us up n send us because we live in the same housing area.

we gossiped, we shared our secrets, we laughed, we cried, we stayed over at each others houses.

we worried about our hair, we complimented each others styles (omg. fashion disasters way back then), we assured each other and promised to stay good friends eventhough we led different paths in life

u told me of ur first bf, who apparently will also be ur last :)

ur an animal lover.. and to the extreme. dozens of cats. even dogs. and u even have a shovel in the boot of ur car for "emergency purposes" which i shall not mention here :)

u love to swim, but u cant because ur allergic to chlorine water.

u have really thick, soft, straight n silky hair which i envy. (ok totally irrelevant)

and now u have gotten engaged (6th June) which is such a big thing for me. And u told me a month before about it. it was an invitation. i knew u knew i couldnt be there.. but u told me anyway.

im touched. eventho we dont keep in contact as much as i would like.. but i know we're still the best of friends.

so anyway baybeh~

no no, its not THAT flu..

its the normal flu that seems to be spreading like wildfire around here.
ive almost forgotten how its like.
runny nose, slight temperature, watery eyes.. and the sneezing. omy the sneezing. i could kill an ant with it. its somewhat equivalent to a tornado in the ant world.
*sigh*

ive taken my meds.
hope this flu doesnt drag on.. i practically interupt lectures with the sound of me blowing my nose off.
imagine a clogged pipe.
yep tats me.

and i cant think when i have the flu. somehow i think it my brain jams up and all of a sudden all cognitive functions of mine are put on hold.

i'll be continuing my sleep now. I've been sleeping the whole evening like a bear in hibernation.. sleep is my sanctuary right now because as soon as i open my eyes, it activates the pipe systems in my nasal cavity and i suddenly have to deal with a dense waterfall.

n my nose looks like it took a beating from Rocky Balboa from all the wiping of mucous with rough toilet paper tissue because i ran out of soft and scented face tissue.

as u can see.. up there was our Uni's banner for the recent Volgames 2009 in the city of heroes, Volgograd.

our game was on the first day. straight after arriving at 6am in the morning after 16hour drive.. attended the opening ceremony and went straight to our match.

unfortunately.. we lost our first game to them 5-6.
we felt really down then.. since it was our first year with a brand new defence. Akak punidha (wd), Kala(gd) both have graduated and Yas(gk) couldnt come for the games this time.. loosing the first match.. we thought it was all downhill from then on.
thankfully we won the next matches againts Volgograd 10-5 and RSMU 7-3 to make it into the finals.


In the finals we met up with MMA once again and WON the game 8-7... also a 1 point difference!
WE WONNNN!!!!!!! WUHUUUU~~~~

after netball, we went to support the Futsal girls.
They won Gold too... wuhuu.. congrats :)
the next day.. i still had Handball to compete in. However we only got fourth placing. which i think was still a hell of a good job considering we only formed the team a week before the games.
We'll get u guys next year round in Kursk Games 2010!... I'll be seeing u RSMU handball girls, especially the one who pushed one of our Futsal players in the finals after she scored the winning goal.
tx for ur going-away present too.. hbs lebam tangan sy. thank u very much. grrrr...

on the 2nd day.. we had a Grand Concert. it was actually called the Grand dinner nite. tapi since makanan sgt "grand".. i think its more suitably called Grand concert.. congrats volgo on the great performances! truly enjoyed it :)

oya.. n remembered when i said i had to sing... well i DID! hehe. will upload the video as soon as i get it :)

Busiest week of my life

busy busy busy bee am i bloggie...

i just dont know how i got so busy.

ive had no time to update. but since today is my self-claimed holiday... heres an update. my schedule over the weekend was :

saturday - class, making easter eggs for an easter bday boy and this took me HOURS.. coz im just so creative.. i had to keep redo-ing it when it wasnt preety enuf. (act sgt hodoh bikinan sy, terpaksa redo balik2.), then in the evening i was taken to Tanuki Japanese Restaurant! its a cool new asian-ish sushi place for an early bday celebration...

look! look! they have chinese writings on the walls! i tot i was in a japanese restaurant???

Woke up at 9:30am... Easter Sunday yippee.

Helped out to cook for our Easter feast after mass tat day.

Cooked till 1:15 pm.

Bergegas untuk mandi dan menyiapkan diri for mass at 2pm.

Had a slight panic attack at 1:45pm taxi blum smpai and im suppose to be singing psalms for mass n i havent told max how the melody goes yet.

Arrived on time for mass. Mass finished at 3:30pm. Netball training starts at 4pm.

Cepat2 gobbled up Easter feast.

Rushed to netball training n arrived late.. kena suruh lari extra rounds. huhu.

Finished netball at 6pm. Was feeling so happy.. yay.. dpt rehat sdh.

Then am forced to attend Handball last tryouts by fellow netball members who are also trying out.

Go for 7pm Handball tryouts. Promised myself to finish it early because i havent read for Physio class tomoro.

Stayed until the very end of handball because it was so much fun.

Came home and cooked rice. Thank God meal was taken care of by special someone.

Bathed,ate n then reluctantly started on physio at 10pm.

Went to bed only at 2pm.

Next day, manage to breeze tru Physio class with not much slip-ups. It was really a blessed day. God gave me energy to pull through and do all i needed too. :)

moral of the story : When u feel u have to many commitments to fill, or are very2 busy.. its good to take a moment and ask for help from the One above.. surprisingly.. he managed to add more hours to a day and give abundant energy :).

i know its kinda my fault for having to much to do.. my dad would tell me to cut down on my activities so that my results wont suffer.. i will in 3rd year.. ** promise **.

but its just so much fun being involved.. it makes my time go faster towards the moment i meet my beloved family and friends again. n by then i will have so many stories n achievements to tell them about.

i am still in 2nd year 2nd sem btw.

on top off all that.. Kenyalang Kinabalu might be performing for another competition.

and i might be singing at the Volgo Games 2009 ceremony.

tat means probably another very busy week ahead.

BUT I PROMISE I WILL STILL KEEP STUDIES MY NUMERO UNO. ni untuk dady n mami se baca. nanti kena marah.
